Martin Luther said, " The truth of the gospel is the principle article of all christian doctrine. Necessary that we know this gospel well, teach it to others and BEAT IT into their heads.

1 Galatians 1:6-8 Paul writes / I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!

You see they were letting other things other than the one true gospel distort their thinking. Even today this happens. People try to get in this mode of religiosity where things get added and subtracted in how and when to worship. And this creates a distortion of the single most important point to the gospel itself – "It's All About Jesus!"

Not religion but Jesus…..

Check this out man! Paul even reminds us of this in

1 Corinthians 15:1-4/Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.

Like Martin Luther said so eloquently, allow me to beat the truth of the gospel into your head today.

It's all about Jesus. The only worldview that is wrapped around one man who claimed to be God.
Not a God! The God! The God of the universe, The God that created all things, The Great I AM, that is the God we are talking about.

You see other religions might have a main characters buts they are not the character that claims to be God. For these other religions, it the process you have to go through to get to that God.

Ex.

Islam – Mohamad is the character, but it's not about him, it's about following the 5 pillars of Islam

Judaism – Is not about the character of Moses, but it's about the Torah

Buddhism – is not about the character of Buddah, it's about following the 8 full path and the noble truths

Hinduism – Is not about the character Moeksha, it's about receiving the cycles of reincarnation.
(Ummmm, I too have no idea what that means either.)

Existentialism – Is not about the character Kierkegaard, it's about Freedom and individual choice.

There is NO gospel in religion! Why? Because the Gospel of the Bible was not about Religion but it was about the world coming into a relationship with the man that came to save it!

The only character in history that came to us to die for us! He came and lived a sinless life. The Gospel is all about him, Jesus Christ.

So to go back to the one granular single point it is this: It's all about Jesus!

Do not distort it, desert it and most importantly, DO NOT turn from it.
