i've never liked wilco. except for that song. but i'm totally getting into it now. strange, right? and there's a band called everest who opened the neil young/wilco show and they are pretty awesome too. new music is soooo good. even when it's old.

i could use some more new music suggestions. i'm checking out matt costa who opened the ryan adams/oasis show. i only caught the verrrrry end of his show. he was clapping and singing and then he was done. anyway, suggestions!

last night i went to the bar and had diet coke. and i actually didn't feel like a total joke doing it. we played photoswap on scott's iphone which is seriously the best invention EVER. people send out some naughty photos! which gets us in stitches and then scott takes pictures of his arm bent just right so it looks like a naked bum. sooooo amusing!

today i'm in the mood for lots of black coffee and wilco. and writing! i'm gonna sit on the FREEZING back porch with my journal and put some music on the stereo. i can't find any of my black pens though. the only one i could find is almost out of ink. i need more pilot g2 pens in black!

this year is goooooood.

The Planktonics

i made matt costa a sandwich once when he played in mpls. he's nice. try some bill mike band. they're from here. listen to the song 'secure,' it's some pretty unique stuff. the guy makes strange sound effects with his guitar using a conch shell.

speaking of weird hippie music makin' madness, i really like this band from BC called the listening party. i saw wolf parade this summer and the listening party opened for them. it was annoying at first cause it took them an hour and a half to start their set but once they started playing nobody even cared. it was some pretty unique shit. basically they're two hairy guys (of course they're hairy) who cannot be described as a jam band much, but still some organic bizarre mountain man rock. the guitarist was pulling off some coolass tom morello shit with his axe and going all nuts like a hippie johnny greenwood...that's what he is. if those two had a lovechild who dwelled in a cave. anywho, the drummer was going to town on massive trash containers & buckets using maracas which was bitchin. they both sang, too. and their harmonies were great. they have this big howlish way of singing...altogether a very delightful and refreshing act to see and i'm glad they opened super late for wolf parade cause now i know the listening party.

the end.
