3 of my best friends in the universe, (met on MySpace) Ladytown, Orphan Train, and SWA are moving next month to Ptown, and LA is poorer for it. Check them out in my top 8 or 20 or whatever. Too much talent for one little family. I lived in Portland for about 5 years back in the day, and can't wait to visit them there and have a microbrew.
Oh, wait, I don't do that anymore.

Or walk down to Powells books in the rain and have a slice at Roccos pizza across the street.
Oh, wait, I don't do that anymore.

Or go to Satyricon and listen to too loud bands for a $3 cover.
Oh, wait, I don't do that anymore, and I think they closed Satyricon.

Oh wells, I miss them already.

There are so many other wonderful experiences up here you know (of course you know -- it's Portland!)

Perhaps now you will have absolutely no excuses not to come up for a visit. When you do, I hope you will consider spending an afternoon out at my place. I think you would enjoy the scene -- lots of kids, dogs, cats, bunnies, chickens and naked neighbors. It's all quite a show! I know my family would enjoy getting to know you to too. I wish I could get Jano and Indigo up here as well -- I miss him terribly.

In the meantime, I'm excited to finally hear Sarah perform! My daughter Lucca is going to LOVE her. She's just starting to learn guitar, and I've been looking for somebody I could take her out to hear. She loves women performers who do country/folky stuff, which is around but not at the caliber displayed by Sarah and all the other terribly talented folks down there in LA. I'm sorry for your loss, but I hope you will forgive me for being very pleased to hear she and her family have relocated to PDX. Once I get back home on this Friday, I'll have to upload 3919 onto Lucca's itunes and get her listening to Sarah.

Hope you are well,

- Grant

LOU

Hi Chuck!
Don't be sad. You can stop in E-town on your way up the 101 to P-town. We'll drink organic tea, hug giant trees and support street musicians busking out. Dinner's on me when you (and your friends) come by my way.

Peace
