so, we played this show the other night at Stephanie's, which is a Jamaican bar here in Cambridge. By all acounts, i think the show was pretty good, but there was this dude. This guy must have been from out east, because he had some spoons and he sat beside the speaker and was playing them along, at the wrong rhythmn, to all of our songs. It was pretty funny, but pretty irritating, maybe more for the audience than us. Some people hollered for him to shut up, and he didn't. Then Paul Studiman, a longtime former neighbour and a good friend, yanked the spoons from the hands of this drunken baffoon. Paul, the hero of the night.

so its funny cause its a year after you posted your post about the guy playing the spoons, but i read it and it made me remember one of my first gigs, it was at the old el mocambo in toronto, we were playing the downstairs bar (not the upstairs one made famous by teh stones and stevie ray vaughn). there was this guy sitting next to the stage just before we went on. as soon as we started he began shaking one of those plastic shaker eggs. its was funny the first song, annoying the second song, then it got frightning, he started playing it during the song breaks, at one point he started to dance, all the while he was stairing at our drummer (which, if you think about it, is what all rythim players should do). our drummer started to feel uncomfortable. we finnished the set and our bassist gave the shaker a shout out. i never saw him again and hadn't thought of it in years untill i read your year old post. do you have any shows coming up? are you still looking for a choir? are you recording at all?
