Why do the remaining members have to give up their lives for the sake of a leaving member? I guess it's hard when it ends, and things change, to accept that it's all over as it was, and to embrace the new. ...for everyone involved; fans & artists. I sometimes wonder why bands continue, but when you think about what it's like to have been in a band and someone leaves, you don't want to let it go. Fans don't want to let it go either. It's like the end of a relationship and noone's ready to move on. These days I think it's hard to separate an artist from a brand, isn't it? Even solo artists fall into a brand. If music styles change slightly on a new release, old fans don't necessarily appreciate the new album sound even though it's from that same individual. You lose fans, you win new fans. It's a funny old world.

Motown artist like the Tempations have been chaning thier line ups for years, no different. But I say we buy into brands a lot more then we do artrist now a days cause none are real...except you CNB (Did you see your feature in Essence.com?)
