I am happily dating someone who is in the Marines and some of my friends don't think I should be get involved with guys in the military because they are always cheating.  I'm not talking about while he's in Iraq.  I am talking about when he gets back.

Look, studies show that these military guys have the same capacity to cheat as any guy.

Sure, there are several military men that do cheat but there's just as many business men that cheat, too. It's just that military men have more of a focus on them than your average business man.

I mean when they're on deployment, the chances are probably higher......just as when business men are away on their business.

To me, its all a matter of whether he's trustworthy or not. If he's a loyal man who can control himself, he will not cheat on you.  If not, oh well, they are what they are.....

A lot of military guys will tell their friends not to get involved with a civilian, too, because the significant others left behind during deployment have a tendency to cheat as well.

My friend who's dating a army captain says he's currently away on deployment. But she's not worried. He's trustworthy. Saying all military men cheat is a gross misconception and unfair stereotype...like all stereotypes.
