Perspective

We should all emulate the sloth,
who spends most of his time up-side-down,
hanging from a tree.

Sometimes it helps
to view the world from a different angle,
don't you agree?

You need to ask?

Upside down would be a great place to linger for a while. (Like we haven't already lingering that way!) It's a good metaphor for how life can feel sometimes. There's a scene at the beginning of Great Expectations where Pip is held upside down that professors love to dwell on. It marks the beginning of a time of turbulent change for him. I wonder if sloths are disoriented when they're upright?

Next time I see one I'll ask. *grin* I researched sloths a little bit once. Had a story idea that I thought might pan out. (It didn't. Not yet, anyway.) They are fascinating creatures, but definitely on the weird side.

I can emulate it, but can't follow its example...
Love,
