So, this week I have managed to argue with the contractor (still arguing about the floor), get the AC fixed for a good $600, start a fire with the dryer plug, tow Chadd's car back to the house and be ignored by the carpet cleaning company.  It can only get better from here!  Can't wait until I get to travel again at least I won't have to see the destruction first hand.  Of course that won't happen til the middle of July but at least I get to go home.  We have a meeting in Chicago so I'll be able to fly in early to see Gramps.
