Happy MLK Day! What are you doing to honor the King Jr.? I'm blogging, then I'm going to get my oil changed. Hooyah! And Inauguration Day tomorrow? Whoo! Exciting times. It feels like the Triumphal Entry, complete with palm fronds and hosanna's. Now, I don't usually get on a soapbox, but I just gotta say, people, Obama's still a politician. Let's not get delusional. MLK, however, was more than a politician. He was a crusader and an ambassador for truth. Call me cynical, but I somehow doubt we will ever say that again about any U.S. politician. Ok, how did that happen? On to the nitty gritty. Springtime is Wartime has finished tracking everything for our new album. Saturday, I did the lead vocals for the final song, Dave added his final backing vocals, and Josh added a killer triangle part to one song. Then, last night, the studio was party central, where our friends and family got in on the act. We did a final listen-through of everything and changed a couple of lines of vox. Stacey and Sarah made their mark on the album with some angelic "ooo's" on the raucous Bravo Charlie. And we gathered 5 drunks from the streets to do some wicked hand-claps on Garter Belts and Rosaries as well as Twinkle. It is pristine. So, now all we need to do is find the time to go down to Andy McGraw's in Orange County to do the mixing. Who knows how long that will take. Why did he have to inconvenience us by having a child? Babies are like barely human. Anyway, we promise it will sound awesome when it is done. Then, we will be down to mastering and pressing. We are looking for someone who can do pretty high quality mastering for a low price - like $200 - 250. So, if you know anyone who will hook us up, let us know. We're looking forward to sharing this labor of love with all you. Tim, s=w. (P.S. Sorry about the one long paragraph. It's Myspace editor's fault, not mine. Why not make a fun language arts game out of it? Where would you indent for each paragraph?)
