Current mood:Leanin’

Inspired by Skillz' yearly "Rap Up", I decided to run down my year into a Top 10 list of significant events in no specific order.
Bottom line, life is good... with not so good things sprinkled into it
to help recognize em. Well, here it goes:

1. New record deal with the MYX Music Label
(This is definitely number one, cause it's allowed me to work with some pretty dope f*ckin people for my next album. I can't wait til ya'll hear it, your girls gonna cream in her pants... j/k)

2. Seeing my family for the Holidays
(Dad & lil bro lives in LA, Mom lives in Riverside County, lil sister lives in NY, & older sister has been bouncing around the world serving the Marines for years... Seeing everyone within a two day span was a treat!)

3. Moving back to Oakland
(I heart Oakland! As much as I love SF, and as much as LA has helped me develop and mold my skill, Oakland has always inspired my best work, and will forever be my heart & soul.)

4. Lake Merritt
(I love my new apartment. It's small, but it's all mine! I drink wine every night, listen to beats, and write raps with no distractions... It really doesn't get any better. Also, walking the lake in the morning with a cup of coffee, smoking a cigarrette watching all the PYT's jogging the lake is definitely a +)

5.  Barack Obama
(Well, this kind of speaks for itself. Change was necessary and we got it. Let's not f*ck this up, we all need to step up and contribute to the betterment of our communities. P.S. The whole shoe throwing thing with Bush was really messed up, as much as we all hate him.)

6. TRUE
(I started working at TRUE in 02' as this snotty ass Hip Hop kid. Several short lived jobs, two albums, and a couple rap tours later, I'm now a manager at TRUE and still the same snotty ass Hip Hop kid I was when I first started working there. Glad to have a job I enjoy in the middle of this economic crisis.)

7. Project Heights
(Lunar Heights isn't only my crew, but my family! So rapping with just anybody isn't an easy task for me. Well, after meeting my dude Karim and hitting it off, we started a group together called  Project Heights. Get it? Lunar Heights meets Boom Bap Project. Anyways, rappers need to be worried, this is gonna be a big problem for em. Not to mention we have one of the best DJ's in the world in the group, DJ Vinroc!)

8. Break Up
(After 6 years and some change, my ex-girlfriend and I broke up earlier this year. We grew apart, and just needed to do what was best for both of us. It sucks, but it needed to happen. Now I no longer have that "he's spoken for" aura that other women are so drawned to that helped with my appeal.)

9. The Wake Up Show
(I've always felt blessed to make music with some of the best in the game, let alone rocking stages around the world has been pretty f*ckin cool. But hands down, spitting verses on the world famous Wake Up Show has gotta be up there with one of my  most memorable Hip Hop moments.  Big up Rascoe Omali for keeping me on my toes, and Rome Diggs for getting me in the door.)

10. Lady Friend
(She's thoughtful, smart, caring, funny, and has a ridiculous booty. My favorite thing to cuddle with at nite other than the stuffed green alligator she gave me.  By the way, she doesn't have a myspace profile, so I feel pretty safe talking about her ridiculous booty without getting heat for it.)

Well, that's all I could think of for now. 08' has definitely been  filled with more challenges than anything else. 09' should be good, all the hard work and struggle this year was needed for me to recenter my self and prepair for the new year. Best wishes to all, let's get it!
