Pardon me, Pixie, for being ridiculously psyched -- I'm the band's baby and this is my first time seeing anything about me in print! It's also the first time a newspaper wrote about us, so...

THE JAWS, THE MIDNIGHTMARES, THE BOARDLORDS, SEASIDE TAVERN, FRIDAY, 9 P.M.

A triple bill of local rock fun and decadence. The Jaws are arena rockers with an  affinity for the gritty classic rock of the 1970s. Frontman Nick Sproviero is equal parts scratch and soul, while guitarist Danny Stenson is valued as much for his restraint as for his tasty riffs. The Midnightmares are a new group of old favorites. James Rockwood, Matt Mullarkey and Brian Finn, the musicians in Elvis McMan, the closest thing Stamford had to a house punk band, have regrouped with singer Pixie Kruczynski. The group does the pop-punk thing, singing about monsters and relationships, not such distant topics Expect energy to be the order of the day.
