Current mood:  curious

Today we went to the race trials at Hidden Valley and watched the solar cars and others do their laps. There are some amazing looking cars that have had so much work put into them - it's a very special sight to see! Team Aurora did the best time in 2min 9 sec. It will be interesting to see how they go once the real race begins.

Another interesting sight was a wild-haired man pedalling a hydrogen-powered bike, who's apparently not doing the WSC but another long distance race next week.

At the end of the meet, we were excited to do a lap of the race track with all the other Greenfleet vehicles… ah, good times...

And we are so happy that the Venezuelan team - whose batteries are still in Memphis, Tennessee, thanks to postal issues - were able to borrow and buy what they needed to finish their vehicle. We're all crossing our fingers that they complete the project in time to make the race.

The afternoon saw us at Darwin Showground for the Greenfleet briefing, where we heard from people such as the SA and NT Events Managers, WSC Chief Safety Officer and a SA policeman. We heard all about road rules, public displays, special dinners and much more. The outback is a beautiful place but it can be dangerous.

We can't wait for the Challenge to begin tomorrow!
