Current mood:  hungry
Category: Life

I've thought long and hard about the prospects of crash dieting to fit the stereotypical image of what a person in a band should be.  Can a band of overweight lovers crack into the music industry dominated by the beautiful people.

When we put together a set list for any gig, we strategically place the song Chubby in the second slot.  It amazes me how quickly the new faces in the crowd change once they hear that song.  Our musical abilities have not changed from the first song, but people realize that we know that we're chubby.

It almost seems like it give them the ability to forget about how physically fit we are and focus on the music.  So I suppose we're back to the dilemma.  When one of your hit songs is about being chubby should you lose weight.   I'll ponder it over a  twinkie....or two....

I think its about being comfortable with who you are and not letting the mainstream music industry corrupt your self worth.

When I look at the typical chart toppers I see a marketing scam using esthetics and technoligy to create a look and sound of what the marketing department thinks we will like.

When you look at the greats who have lasted generation to generation you don't see the fake marketing look you see today.  Great artists are those who create great music and express their love of their art through thier soles... not just by whether they are thin or not, if they have the right clothes, cars, or material objects.

Its unfortunate how our society has turned from having raw talent to computer generated marketing robots who look great with tonz of make-up and sound great with a great recording producer.

Lets bring back Nat King Cole, Judy Garland, Barry Manalow, Barbara Streisand, Aretha Franklin, and the rest of the great artist before mass media and technology came into this world.

the thing about it is that i think people who are a little bit chubbier than the rest of "beautiful" america actually have bigger personalities. That seems to come out of the fact that we're(the chubbies) not so worried about being overweight as much as we are about enjoying ourselves. i mean, who wants to live day to day being  a slave to diets when you could live day to day enjoying yourself, and the world around you? i say fuck the beautiful people who are so egotistically confused, we got mass and we kick ass!

Let's just all face the fact that "beautiful america" isn't the majority of people in america. If someone wants to get fit, it should be for their health, not just for looks. I think we need to accept ourselves for who we are and others will do the same. Who cares if I'm a little fat? Not me. I, like you guys, still play in a band that rocks. That's all that matters.

Not everyone wants some junkie-thin lover. I have nothing against people who try to stay fit for their health. But our culture is much too obsessed with looks. Gaining some weight was one of the best things that ever happened to me. It forced me to develop my personality. I wasn't going to get by on my looks anymore. I used to feel confident that people would want me because I was attractive, but feared that they wouldn't like me anymore if they got to know me too well and found that I was lacking. Nowadays, I'm not so sure that someone will find me physically attractive, but I'm confident that the more they know me the better they'll like me. If I had to make the choice again between the two I'd still pick a prettier inside.

Personally, I like big men. I like a belly. Somewhere soft to lay your head. Big arms to snuggle in. Big sexy teddy bears. Mmmmmm. There's something so appealling about chubby men.

If you are fat of skinny should not determine how talented you are or whether or not people like you music.  I saw you webpage and heard the songs on it.  I like the sound.  I also saw the pictures and to tell you the truth I think the band is pretty hot.  I like guys with substance, and the feamle is beautiful.. So personally I dont think you have a thing to worry about.
