Hey everyone, I want to write this thank you while I still have that fuzzy feeling. I was amazed at the way you brothers and sisters came together for this auspicious occasion, regardless of the weather. It reaffirms my belief in the human heart. When we arrived at 12, I had been beaten there by my bass player, Brendon Bigelow, who had taken the bus from way North Austin, amazing it itself, but also the place was a bayou. Robert Banta and Big Pete drained the sucka which kept the alligators at bay. Robert also made the chili and Marc Suban came through with some amazing gumbo, I don't even know who tended the grill that produced the tasty hot links and beef steaks, but thank you. Kelli Archer and Clay Connell, proprietors of Roadhouse Rags, are the most caring musical format providers in this town, hands down. And I want to take my hat off to them for stepping in and stepping up when Egos, with no notice, totally let us down and turned their back on this righteous event. And thanks to our good friend, Lisa Starr with the Humane Society, who went to bat to promote this event in a way that would make Don King proud. A special thanks, also, to Kristin Brooks, the amazing graphic artist that produced the poster for us. The event scored $500 and a little more with the silent auctions' dough still uncounted. So thanks to all who contributed merch. On a personal note, y'all all helped me fulfill a promise to my black lab, Maybelline, that passed last year, which was that I would honor her musically with my friends, and I am so glad that the proceeds of today went to her brothers and sisters, sweet sweet cosmic justice. I just thank you all from the bottom of my heart, each and every one of you. viva la animals.
Love,
Rick Broussard
