September 11, 2001 marked a turning point in the lives of Americans
everywhere. For Eric Dodge, it marked the day he decided to overcome
his fears of performing and make a career out music. On a cruise ship
off the coast of Mexico and moved by the day’s events, Dodge stepped to
the ship’s mic and performed Garth Brooks’ “The Dance.” A fellow
passenger was so moved by his performance that she encouraged him to
pursue music, a suggestion he took to heart.
