Silver - Silver - Silver - Silverlode - HO! Well it's official - Christmas is over but we find ourselves on the dawn of a new era - with the first ever black American President, a brand new all singing and dancing peace deal in the Middle East and Terry Christian back on the telly!? Two out of three can't be bad. Also new to 2009 is my first ever news blog. We're planning to keep you up to date on demos, releases, gigs and happenings. Welcome.

Silverlode saw the New Year in round our mates' house in Headingley - (a semi acoustic gig with Ghosts in The Nightclub) - and what a lovely house it was too! Vague memories of marble pillars, big wide doors like what they had in the olden days and a shed load of booze. Even vaguer memories of some Caribbean concoction that made an appearance in the early hours?! Devilry.

Here's the big news though: The Glimpse of Lightning EP is nearing completion.... It's mixed!! it's mastered!! (by the very talented Andy Hawkins - sound guy to the stars) and we're just itching to get it launched. You can expect a few tasters to be banded around over the next couple of months in the form of re-mixes by some very talented individuals from the Leeds Scene, so watch this space.

In other news - We've been working closely with The Sound People over the last few moths in preparation for the EP launch but more pressingly ahead of our gig with Manchester rock sensation Keith on the 18th Feb at the Cockpit! Also appearing will be Die Video Die. This is a great line up and we are looking forward to it - Big style. Buy your tickets here.

2009 is going to be a massive year for the Lode. Thanks for all your support in 2008 and we'll be in touch.
