IN OTHER ADVENTURES....
Last Saturday we recorded a short acoustic set and interview for East Leeds FM’s 24 hour Musicathon at the magical witching hour of 3AM in a dilapidated church in the sight of Jesus. If you were out clubbing, you can catch the full set and interview ‘ere or the edited version on our MySpace.
We've also got ourselves on this excellent podcast from Route For The Underdog. If that isn't enough radio coverage, there's more of us on the airwaves! Yorkshire Radio kindly played us on Sound of Yorkshire. Check 'em out on DAB or Sky Channel 0209.
Friday 13th II saw us at Elbow Rooms, along with Gary Stewart Band, Roseville Grand and Milk White White Teeth. All of whom were awesome, from what I little remember after hanging at the bar since 5 O'clock! At Dirty Hippy Fest, we wrestled our instruments from the hands of a one man entertainment machine upstairs, a great event all weekend, to play a storming set including our first ever cover! We don’t do covers but ‘cos it’s 50 years of Motown, we did Heatwave by Martha and The Vandellas. It was ace. At The Adelphi we debuted a new track – Oh Brother, which featured the hot glock (ie. stolen, but not by us!) – that was afternoon delight at a great venue with immense sofa goodness.
Thank you if you came out to one or more of those shows, especially the Elbow Rooms one ‘cos that went on long after bedtime!
A big thanks to everyone who answered our pleas and turned up as white knights for our magazine photos. Also thanks to the large fish and the naughty tiger; don't ask.
Onwards! Rob & David (I, Rob, hijacked Dave’s blog, a lot, it’s been great - 14th April 2009
