Howdy, friends. I promise a better blog tomorrow, but for now I wanted to point you in a new direction.

brigidkaelin.blogspot.com

I'm getting emails from lots of you who want to comment on my blogs, but who do not have MySpace accounts.

MySpace is pretty much done-for, except for the musician pages, and Facebook is the new King.  I dislike the "Note" function in Facebook, so I'm moving my blog over to a dandy ol' Blogspot page.

I'm going to continue to copy and paste blogs to MySpace for a little while longer, but you might want to change your RSS feeds over, or your bookmarks or whatever you do to read your blogs.

This particular blog is mostly so I can launch the new site and find out my RSS and URL and all those fun acronyms.

Cheerio!!

I still don't get it...  Facebook was in the middle of all sorts of controversy in the news lately.  Why is it suddenly so much better than MySpace all of a sudden?

Maybe because facebook actually stays logged in when you tell it to do so. Or maybe that's just my personal beef w/ myspace. I only keep it open to follow the blogs of a few people, most everyone I know uses facebook to post status updates.

Also, yay, now I can just follow Brigid through Google Reader :)

I'll miss you in myspaceland!

I use myspace for hearing/seeing/reading
music/art/writing, not networking.
Facebook is totally a networking site, no use to me at all for music or other arts. I use it to chat with friends.

I'm hopeless at keeping up with blogs outside of myspace. It's overwhelming, I'm subscribed to so many, I end up not reading 95% of 'em. But I'm glad you'll still be blogging, Ms Kaelin (and guest bloggers), I hope to read you soon!

Geez, don't scare us like that! Tossing around a word like "moving" could incite public panic and civil unrest, and who knows what might happen at the Monkey Wrench. As for changing sites for your blog, keeping up with you was my reason for creating a myspace account, and I like the musician pages here. But I'll faithfully follow you wherever you post - your writing is too good to miss (and even your guest blogs are worthwhile)! Thanks as always for sharing.

I signed up recently to Facebook and I agree with the dislike for the "Note" function.  I feel FB is pretty clunky.  I like MySpace to keep track of musicians, and a few friends.  I will continue to follow your blogs at their new home.

Thanks, everyone.  And don't worry -- I'm definitely not deleting my MySpace page. I actually still like MySpace -- except for the whole logged-in functions and a few other annoying little things.  But I like it for music and art and blogging.  I'm just trying to keep up with (and reach new) a wider audience.

My blog page just hit something like 50,000 views ... I promise not to disappear:)

And if MySpace EVER gets smart and adds an Import Blog function, then i'll be able to feed my new blog directly here, rather than copy and paste every single entry.
