If you happen to be in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area...or not... Just check this out, wherever you are.
The illustrious and wise John Cowan, and myself, have banded together (so to speak) to bring you some duo music of the highest order. It recently occurred to me to ask my long-time friend to sing and play some shows with me and, after doing so, wondered why I hadn't asked him sooner. We got together and have worked up some new music that is SO much fun and sounds amazing (as does anything with John's singing and playing attached). I'm pleased and excited to announce our premier in...(drum role)....Oklahoma!! (a little random, but please read on) We have put together a weekend of fabulous concerts and workshops which we hope to bring to your area soon.
The reason for Oklahoma: Another of my wonderful, musical friends, Jared Tyler, happens to live in Tulsa and we've been talking about putting on a show like this for a very long time. We finally got off our asses and did something about it. Jared has graciously exerted himself and set up these two shows, one in OK City and the other in Tulsa. In between these two shows we've scheduled a rare happening indeed. John and myself will put on two intensive, master class, Q&A, workshops hosted by Jacob Mehlhouse, "The String Doctor", in his new violin shop, Tulsa Strings. I'm very excited about this because, in my experience, this kind of thing usually only happens at summertime festivals and I would like to make it a more common occurrence and part of my regular solo performance schedule. ("Solo performance schedule?", you might ask. More on that at a later time. Keep your eyes peeled.) So keep an eye out for John and myself at the usual places and hopefully we'll appear in your usual places soon.
More to come....
