Here's a review of the album from UK Rock - it came out a couple of months ago, so apologies for not posting this earlier.  Anyway, here it is:

"PAUL Ansell has never been a respecter of genres. He plays rockin' country, rock'n'roll, blues inflected material and ballads.  The only constant is the quality of the output.  Whatever he does, he does it well.  For his latest release, he works with the Nashville A team of bassist Bob Moore, guitarist Reggie Young, keyboard player Dave Briggs, at whose Tennessee studio this was cut, and UK drummer Jimmy Russell, with a guest slot for his mate Billy Swan.

The three Americans have played thousands of sessions between them, and the fact Paul could tempt them to work with him is a tribute to both his singing and his songwriting.  Apart from a couple of covers, Gordon Lightfoot's Early Mornin' Rain, the perennial Bloodshot Eyes, Tear Joint from Dan Penn and Donnie Fritts and maybe a couple of others, these are all Paul's compositions, and are all firmly in the trad. rather than alt. country mode.

His oft-times Elvis-inflected voice suits the material down to a tee, and if he decided to go that route could have a successful career in the country field.  But that would be rock'n'roll's loss, and Paul is unlikely to fit into anyone else's pigeon holes, we are pleased to say. This will win him fans outside those who already know he is one of Britain's brightest stars."

...to me he's one of the worlds brightest stars! But I agree in all the other points!
