Hey Film Freaks!

I never gotta chance to say thanks.  Thanks for an amazing 10 years on 971 FM Talk, Los Angeles.  10 years of speaking freely & openly about movies that mattered to me, and you too.  The show was this uber hobby & I just loved doing it every Saturday night.  People always said, aren't you bummed working Saturday nights?  I couldn't wait to get there.

I truly believe it was a unique show with no Movie Critic bullshit.  My audience was smart & was never talked down to in a condescending manner.  I think I got about 10 prank calls in 10 years.  Do the math.  The audience was right there with me all the way.  Never any gossip either, zero.

The suits at CBS can make more money with a Top 40 radio station. I can't begin to complain.  I was sent on assignments all over the world.  Iceland!?!  C'mon I even rode inside the GoodYear Blimp.  Not many can say that.

10 years of doing a LIVR 2-hour unscripted Movie Talk Show has prepared me for bigger & better things!  I'm so grateful.  Thanks to all who listened, enjoyed , found something funny when I interviewed their favorite actors.

I will be at www.filmfreak.com doing things no one else is doing.  I invite you to partake in the journey!  God Bless!

Leo

Leo, I am so pissed I swear what ever happened to give the people what they want! I know it all comes down to money but WTF dude we don't need another Top 40 station as it is we have too many! The world is very depressing right now and you guys really brightend my days and nights! I wish you nothing but the best and like they say when one door closes another one opens!

You will be greatly missed!

Thanks for your kinds words Steph! It's was a rock concert for 10 years. There will never be a station like that anywhere, anytime. That's what's makes it all that much more important. Thanks for being there with all of us.
I speak for everyone, it was OUR pleasure!

Hey Bro, I'm sooooo sad and truly devastated to hear what's goin on!!!!

I heard the tough and sad news on Adam's show this morning and all throughout the day with the Triplets and now Tom talking about it right now.

Ill truly miss hearing you on saturday night for two hours talking about movies that you and us truly care about.
I love the fact that your'e not a film critic, your'e just a guy that loves movies! And that your'e one of us and would rather see a movie with a paying crowd, than go to a screening with a bunch of jaded, starbucks filled, laptop carrying into a darkened theater type industry folks! And the fact that you had some of the honest and fun filled interviews with actors/actresses in film today ranging from Cary Elwes (great hearing you and him go back and forth) to Doug Jones (talking about Hellboy 2 and Pans Labrynth and the silver surfer on FF4) to Jon Favreau (great hearing some inside stuff on Iron Man) to doing a show from the premieres of The Pirates of the Caribbean to doin a 2 hour all access show for The Dark Knight (which was totally snubbed in the oscars for best picture by the way!)

Today is a sad day for 97.1 and all its listeners.I'm gonna really miss listening to everyone from Adam in the morning to Leykis in the afternoon and the drive home to hearing Tim Conway at night. Its never ever gonna be the same again.

As a loyal fan of the radio station (klsx) since 1995, I've listened to all the different djs in the early stages of the station (Mother Love, Ricki Rachtman, Vox, The Regular Guys, and the list goes on and on) but nothing and I mean nothing, came close to greatness as your show. I've been listening to your show and been a very loyal fan and listener since day one in 1998 and followed you through the different time changes (I remember your show being a one hour show and that was way back when :) ). I always looked forward to listening to you every saturday night about movies and kicking ass on film freak trivia! You sure had some tough film drops though! Im not gonna lie. Some I got and others..not so much.

I appreciate all the hard work that you did for all your listeners and having free movie nights and gave away awesome gifts like signed one sheet posters, free movie tickets to free dvds/blu rays.
You will be truly missed for everything u did for us fellow movie freaks like yourself!!!

I hope we can catch listening to you in the near future, maybe on podcasts or on a different radio station! Or maybe doing an online movie show that we can all catch streaming from the web.

Thanks again Leo for an incredible ride! The last 11 years have been great and fantastic! We will never truly forget what an amazing person you are and all the incredible interviews and guests you had for us to listen on your show!

And in the words of Beanie from Old School:
"Don't beat yourself up over this, Mitch. It's not your fault. Dammit, Blue was old. That's what old people do. They die.
" (That was a hilarious film! Maybe they'll do a sequel!! :) )

Buddy,

Thanks for taking the time. Man, your words really took me back to great times. It really makes it all worthwhile when you get good feedback & finally know people were diggin' it. It was a wild show, one I could not have predicted every weekend. Let's move forward. This experience has trained me for bigger things. I'm happy you came along for the ride! Great quote! Here's another one, sappy but good.
To all who enjoyed the show, "As You Wish!"

I thank you again for everything! It was great hearing ya last night on Tim's show and the Triplets today!
Man that was a hilarious top five moments you had! hahaha...

Well keep us informed on your next endeavor wherever it takes ya! Hopefully you'll keep doin the podcasts like Adam will be this upcoming Monday!

Maybe do some contests or somethin on here....

Isn't that The Princess Bride?

Well as Harvey says in The Dark Knight: "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
"

Truly some great dialogue from an epic film!

One of my Goals was to finish up Broadcasting school and Try to be on your show with you. I think we have a simular taste in some movies and a completely opposite taste in others.. . :S I guess I'll never get my chance to sit opposite of you.

I really dug your show a lot. I loved the Con episode and I loved how you would be on the other peeps shows just to throw in a word. . .

PS.

Gonna miss hearing your show, Leo. The one thing I'll remember most is how down-to-earth you are compared to other hosts when you did appearances. Oktoberfest 2008 in Beverly Hills was great even if most of the hosts thought it sucked. Hopefully somehow, somewhere you'll get back on the air.
