So as we get closer and closer to festival, we get more and more excited. We remember festivals of the past and revel in the excitement of a new and exciting season. It's because of this that we would like to invite you to share your memories of past Michigan Renaissance Festival. They could be funny stories, things that happened, or your favorite foods. Please include them as a comment on our page (keep them clean!). We will be randomly selecting participants to receive an official 2009 Michigan Renaissance Festival t shirt! Here's one of my own:

Two years ago I brought a date to Festival. He was a doctor :). He was a lot of fun but it was one of our first dates. We had a lot of fun at festival and were getting ready to leave. We decided no trip would be complete without a tasty treat. As I was standing at one of the tables enjoying a snack, two kids ran by me, one of them kicking my ankle as he ran by. I fell to the ground. Luckily my date rushed to my side and gave me a thorough examination of my foot. Not broken... just sprained. It was adorable and made for a memorable experience.

You get the point... it's sharing time!

Ok. I have a funny story.  I am not sure if you wanted the comment on here or on your profile page, so I will put it on both.

In 2004, I worked front gate.  A fellow named John also worked at the front gate with me. John was actually from the UK, and had the real accent.  I of course was faking mine seeing as I was born and raised in Michigan.

One festival day, he and I were standing at the front gate taking tickets.  We were both yelling something like "I can take your tickets!", he in his authentic British accent, and me with my fake one.  Well, one patron came through and said to John "Her accent is better than yours!" LOL! Now, I am not sure if the patron was pulling our legs, he did not know John or I, and my accent is not THAT terrible for him to be sarcastic about me (I don't think it is anyway...lol!).  But John and I had a good laugh about that.

I had so much fun working at the Renaissance Festival. Unfortunately my current circumstances do not allow me to come back to work this year, but I will be visiting! :)

Mine...would be the first time I went to Michigan. We drove up, got out of the car. My friends told me that it was going to blow my hair away. I paid, walked in and went...Oh My God! I couldn't believe how big it was. And from then on that day, we explored every little inch of that fair. I've been coming to MRF since about 2002. Thanks for making that experience really fun for me!

My favorite memory is last year's festival, it is the first time I've gotten my son to go with us and he had a blast.  It was fun to see the festival and all through fresh eyes!  Also, my son was picked by Ded Bob to be Ned and the crew was there filming for All's Faire In Love.  We can't wait to see the movie and we all have our tickets for this year's festival, my son included!  He found out the festival is alot of fun.

My daughters and I have been coming to the festival since they were born. We enjoy dressing up as fairies and spending this time together. We love it! We can't wait for it to be here again. We spend a month and a half making our costumes and getting everything ready for opening day. I am so glad we can spend this time together. Hopefully it will last a lifetime. I think all mothers should be able to spend quality time with their daughters just playing dress-up. It's Great.
