Current mood:  relaxed
Lately, I've been dealing with a lot of stress. Sometimes I feel like it's more than one person can take. However, I'm a fairly optomistic person, and I choose to believe that God wouldn't give us more to deal with, if he felt we couldn't handle it. I know all this stress isn't doing me any good, so I've been trying to find ways to bring more relaxation into my life. People have told me to try yoga, accupuncture, meditation, massage, counseling, all kinds of things. Well, I'm a poor college student, so my resources are a bit limited. Then today, it came to me.
I have some time on my hands now, while I wait to go back to classes in the summer, so I was at home, watching TV, flipping through the channels, until I found a show with a lady giving pilates classes. I watched what she was doing for a minute or two. At first it looked kind of silly, but I figured I would give it a try. It was hard following the instructions, but I think I did okay. It helps make you more aware of your breathing, your muscles, and the different parts of your body. In the end, I felt more relieved. I wasn't as tense as when I started. From now on, I'm going to make this part of my daily routine and see how it goes.
