There are no words that can adequately express thanks for what Q Madp does for veterans of our great country. Visiting his website at
www.IraqWarHeroes.org pretty much tells the story of what he does in preserving the memory of our finest men and women.
Because of this, I was very honored to be able to spend a day with Q when he came to Arizona! He deserves a special medal just for surviving my driving, lol. But better than that, he now has a place in the Elmersville top friends, usually reserved for family of the Elmers only. He is now one of only two others who are not related to the family, but have done something to help remember my dad's love he left on our earth when he died. He visited places with me where my dad homesteaded in Sedona with his parents, where he worked while growing up, attended school, etc. He also visited my dad's final resting place alongside my mom and my grandparents and a few other family members in the Schuerman Red Rock Pioneer Cemetery in Sedona.
He also took time to photograph a lot of my dad's USMC papers and medals at my brother's house, and eventually, I hope to add those pics here. Q, a veteran himself, honors ALL who have served, and it was my dad's service during WWII in the Marines that made him the man that we all loved and learned from.
This is why we would be better off if we remember all of our veterans--they gave a lot to us, and some gave their lives. We owe our freedom to them all.
I would encourage you to add Q to your top friends and check out his blogs consistently--they include all of his missions for his website, honoring the fallen. But they also include so many other wonderful photo shoots and personal bits from Q. If you are so inclined, please try to help him out with a donation to help him cover costs of all the miles he drives to funerals, his camera equipment, etc. as he does this all on his own money. It takes time that he might normally spend doing photo shoots for paid jobs.
Your life will be better if you follow what Q does, I guarantee it! You will be blessed by what you see.
much love,
karen
p.s. the default photo right now is the "270 Elmersville" sign that had been on the property where my dad's original homestead was on Elmersville Road. It has fallen to the ground, but still brings back memories of all the fun times I had there!
