On February 9th 2003, I was in a bad car wreck. It is amazing how much your life can change in the matter of seconds. I was on my way to work at Lake Ida Corner Market. I have been only working there for about a week. My parents where getting a divorce and my dad and I got in a heated argument. Being the 18 year old genius that I was, I was like I don't have to take this I will get a job and move out. It was about 9:45 on a Sunday morning when I ran off the road and hit a tree. I was told that I was going anywhere from 55 to 65 mph. They told me that it rain a couple days before. So, the roads were not wet, but it was still muddy from the rain. They said that they could tell by the tire tracks that I did not put on my brakes at all. I was med-flighted from Elkmont to Huntsville. Neither one of my parents where at the house the night before my accident. My dad was the first person to come up on the wreck when he was returning home. I was in a comma for 16 days. In the wreck I broke my neck and had major brain damage. Channel 31 came in my room on Valentines Day, but I was still in my comma. There goes my 15 minutes of fame. I had to sleep through it. I had a great recovery and the only thing that is still effected is my memory. The wreck taught me a lot and put life in a whole new perspective.
