Do you have children who are now between the ages of two through eight years old?  If so, do you really care about how much they learn during these ultra-important formative years?

As a parent and grandparent, I am appalled at the fact that many young people are attending grade school, yet are continuing to be illiterate, even after finishing the 12th grade, and many more are totally illiterate after attending college.

An example of this ongoing tragedy can be seen and heard on a popular segment of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, where he interviews college students, asking them questions pertaining to current events occurring in the USA.  A surprising amount of students appear to be not only illiterate, but they seem to have no knowledge of current issues or events.

Do you think these kids are all from families who just don't care about their children's education?  This may or may not be true.

The timeless phrase: "Education begins at home," is more meaningful now, more than ever before, in the history of the USA and all other countries now experiencing video technology.

Have you wondered how this technology has affected many of our children?  You may have noticed the amount of time your neighborhood kids spend playing mindless video games.  Some of these "games" are so violent that our children are being exposed to extreme, graphic fighting to the point of killing!  Many parents seem to be unaware or uncaring of how this video violence affects their young ones, now and possibly later in their adult lives.

I have observed pre-teens and teenagers who have become so wrapped-up in video games, they could be classified as "brain-dead."  The first indication of this video-related affliction is often reflected in a child's report card, where grades fall into the "D" or "F" category.

Now is the time that you, as a caring parent, can do something positive to prevent your children from falling into this trap.  Be extra-cautious when allowing your kids to visit others who may be viewing and playing violent video games.

Fully believing that education begins at home, my husband and I decided the best way to deliver a storybook for kids between the ages of two through eight years, was by producing a DVD that actually teaches children to read, with a read-along concept, complete with real-life photos, animation and uplifting instrumental background music.

Our DVD is entitled: "Bird Mommy's Readalong Storybook."  We have received approval from parents and teachers from all across the USA.  We tested our storybook in urban and rural areas and learned pre-school and grade-school teachers were thrilled with the DVD, partly because many of their students do not speak the English language at home, and by watching and reading along with Bird Mommy, they are now speaking, reading and learning to write words in English.

Discover for yourself by visiting our web site, where you can view and listen to each of the sixteen, full-length, stories and rhymes before making a decision to purchase the DVD.  Please allow your child or children to watch along with you, and let them tell you how much they enjoy Bird Mommy's storybook.

Let's get your kids on the right path to literacy!
