Regional acts represent diverse mix of music for every taste
Crawfordsville, Indiana, July 6, 2008—Restaurants in Montgomery County are running out of time to take part in the second year of one the area's most successful festivals, the Taste of Montgomery County.
The registration deadline for area restaurants, caterers and food vendors to turn in their Taste 2008 applications is July 18 at 5:00 p.m.
"The amount of applicants this year has been strong," said Joey Gerold, owner of Joey's Café and Catering and Chair of the Taste Food Committee. "We close registration in mid-July to give the food committee time to make their final selections, which is no small feat considering the quality of our local vendors."
The Food Committee aims to present a tantalizing variety of foods at each Taste. At last year's event, visitors were treated to tastes of everything from burritos and baby back ribs to gazpacho, jambalaya skewers and crab Rangoon. Gerold is confident that this year's Taste will be even better. "Last year was our pilot year, and restaurants weren't sure how this event would go over," he said. "Since the 2007 Taste was such a success, our area restaurants are eager to show off their selections to our 2008 crowds."
Restaurants and food vendors may pick up applications at the General Lew Wallace Study and Museum or download it from their website, www.tasteofmontgomerycounty.com. The second Taste of Montgomery County will take place on the grounds of the Museum on Saturday, September 6 from 2:00-10:00 p.m. For more information on this and other exciting Museum events, call 765-362-5769.
