Its always important for people offering classes, workshops, or private sessions to help build confidence for prospective clients by providing actual testimonials from previous clients. There are a lot of shady people promising the world and in the end they just want your money. I can only plug my own legitimacy so much. I think it means more coming from those who have now worked with me. I copy/pasted their emails, unedited. The only prompting I asked for was an honest evaluation of my sessions.....

..==========================..==========

I've been interested in voice acting for over a year now, my first real introduction to the way the industry worked was from a small workshop at Mikomicon 2008- which was lead by Kyle. As soon as I found out he was offering private sessions at an affordable price, I had to sign up right away! After taking Voice Acting lessons from Kyle Hebert, I've gained a great deal of knowledge and insight. He was charming and polite but more importantly - HONEST and helpful. He will let you know when something just doesn't work and then give you helpful advice to help you improve.

There's no pressure to continue with the lessons, but I've already decided to schedule another one- I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS for anyone who is interested in Voice Acting. I was kind of stuck in a middle spot where I wasn't a complete beginner, but I also wasn't ready for the big leagues (and big money voice coaches!)- This was just what I needed. I've now been given the opportunity to meet with a professional studio- this chance has nothing to do with these lessons, but Kyle Hebert's advice has definitely helped me prepare for it and know what to expect!
-Anthony Cara / Los Angeles, CA

The consultation with Kyle was invaluable. Not only did I learn about the essential steps needed to break into voiceover, but I learned exactly where the industry is right now and in what direction it's heading. Kyle is not only a seasoned professional voice actor, but he's honest and frank: you can expect a professional evaluation of your vocal range, where you need to be in sustaining a believable performance, and what you need to do to achieve that. Kyle worked with me on analyzing the script to gage what the client wants from my delivery. He had me adjust my performance in keeping with the clients' needs and/or the director's expectations. He worked with me intensively on several commercial scripts, both cold reading and prepared scripts. I learned what the trends in commercial voiceover are right now and just as importantly, what directors and clients are NOT looking for in a performance.

One thing that really sticks out in my mind is that Kyle went out of his way to help me get off the ground by googling acting and improv workshops that are offered in my town--there aren't any, but from this there's no doubt that Kyle wants you to succeed in breaking in and breaking even. So whether you live in No Voice-land, USA where there are no classes whatsoever or LA where you've taken workshops and classes by the fistful, take a session with Kyle. Your career and your wallet will thank you that you did.
-Melanie Quintos / Gainesville, FL

I live outside of the area where I can get work for right now, but my first time in front of a microphone inspired me to want to become part of the voice over industry, over the past few years I've always asked advice of Kyle on what I should do to properly learn what I need to do to work up to it.
I took a few acting classes, but I've always wanted Kyle to teach us what he knows, because just asking his advice always helped me. I like to read for things,but there never seemed to be anyone who could listen to my work and give me an honest, professional opinion. So I jumped at working with Kyle when he began this and was in fact his very first student I guess you could say, listening to his opinion and just reading for him so I could find out where I'm at in learning this meant a lot to me.

He's not someone who will ever promise you things he can't deliver on. In fact asking him when should I put together a demo, he honestly said "you are not ready yet." and I honor that. I know that I won't do anything until I know and feel that I am absolutely ready to do so. If any of you out there are questioning doing this, please book something with him and do it, you'll enjoy hearing his honest opinion, I know I did! as soon as I'm able to afford doing it again, I absolutely will!
--CJ Marie, Fargo, ND

==========================..==========================..

The cost is $75 for an hour. The session is held online via Skype, so you can be anywhere in the world to get a professional critique of your demos and cold reading skills with various script workouts. This is specifically for beginners or those who want to see what voice acting is like. There is no specific structure. The session is very laid back and questions are encouraged. In the future there will be discount specials, coupon codes, a referral program and more. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, shoot me an email.....

I would be in on that 100% if I could afford it right now. Ever since I did that workshop at Animazement '09 with Mike Sinterniklaas, I've been hooked. I've loved acting and singing for years so my voice is in great condition, but I never thought I could take my knack for copying voices I hear on TV and make that into a profession. Talking to you and listening to Spike Spencer really lit a flame in my heart. Maybe one day, I'll be good enough to work with you, Kyle! 'Til then, guess I'll dream on...

Hi Cassara,
These private sessions are aimed at beginners such as yourself.  This isn't about impressing me...this is about helping YOU, give you a clearer picture of where you stand....where your strengths are, what you need to work on.  Whether you have recorded samples or not, I can still critique your performance with commercial script readings.  This isn't meant to be scary or intimidating.  I think my experience in the field has a lot to offer newcomers.

I'll be doing these sessions for the long haul so no rush.  I know money is tight.  I admit, I'm doing this now out of extreme financial desperation...but this is something that people stand to gain a lot from.  While I stand to help pay some bills, beginners can get a professional ear and assessment.  Its a win-win.  Please keep me in mind when you think you're ready.  :)
