The Randy Rhoads CD project was an idea developed by Matthew Sear and Mike Lowery after the 25th anniversary of the passing of the amazing musician Randy Rhoads. The RR CD Project (myspace)

Randy lived only 25 years on the earth, but has left an outstanding mark on the world of guitar. What he achieved in such a short time was only equaled by his musical genius.

Randy's playing, like other guitar innovators, broke rules and pushed beyond what was 'conventional' of the time. Because of this each one of Randy's solos is remarkable in it's melodic structure and phrasing.

When the 25th memorial came upon us we began thinking about what Randy was looking ahead towards, before he died, and what was close to his heart. It is commonly known amongst fans of Randy's that Randy wished to study for a Masters Degree in Classical Guitar.

Sadly Randy never got a chance to do that, but now is our chance to help others who wish to persue their dream and give back too, to Randy ! From this the cd project was born.

All profits raised from this project will be donated to the Rhoads Scholarship fund at UCLA. The Scholarship fund supported by Delores Rhoads, Randy's mum, helps talented students who need financial help and also keeps the flame of Randy alive in the world of music!

What a great way to keep the torch burning.
I will leave you with the kind of man Randy was.

Randy assumed there were plenty of guitarists that were better than him.
Despite winning the prestigious best Guitarist award, Randy remained hungry, seeking out teachers while on tour.  As a teacher Randy impressed individuality on his students and working your own destiny.

He was very particular about doing his best as a musician and getting the right sound.  Above all Randy was one of the kindest people.
He is remembered warmly by his fans and family and friends.

Randy Rhoads, rest in peace, God bless you.
