L’ALBA DI NUOVO Naufrago (MCD)
10/25/2009 | L’ALBA DI NUOVO formed in Terni, Italy, in 2007 and deliver now their first EP/MCD titled “Naufrago” through Brother & Brother records.
It seems like that some melodic hardcore-punk that was on the rage in the 90’s is never really gonna die. In 2009 countless bands continue working their asses off to keep the flag of melodic hardcore-punk high. And “L’Alba Di Nuovo” is among them. Their blend of fast melodic catchy hardcore-punk sung in their mother tongue language counts the likes of Nofx, Hot Water Music, Millecollin, FFD and more modern acts like Rise Against and Rentokill as main influences.
The six tracks are very honest and packed of energy and determination to point the finger at stuff they think sucks.
“Naufrago” is quite a catchy album. When you hear the songs, you just have to move or sing along. And the fact that the songs are sung in Italian gives a different more personal feel to them.
Strangely the weak track of the lot is the opening one “Naufrago” but then with “Sospeso In Aria” things do not slow down for a second and the angrily delivered vocals atop of the pounding drums, persistent bass and rapidly strummed progressions pummel listeners into submission.
If you liked Italian bands like Jet Market, Bedtime For Charlie, Not Found and aforementioned bands you should definitely give this MCD a spin.
