hello. jeff posted two new mp3s last night. "matador" is a new song. we recorded this acoustic version on WUFT FM earlier this year. the album version is just as hushed in tone but more epic in arrangement...pedal steel and violin swells and an erin tobey girl-group outro. the other song we posted is a gram parsons cover called "a song for you". we covered this song a couple weeks ago at a gram cover show along with "$1000 wedding". we finished off our set with "shiver me" (including the now-standard ending "if you think you're lonely now, wait until tonight." stolen from a mariah carey reference to a babyface song that i have never heard). i knew the gram songs but learning them made me fall in love all over again. "$1000 wedding" seems like a standard story song at first listen but there is so much more going on in that song and "a song for you"....damn. what can i say? hope you like our version. xo holopaw
