"I love body modification and have always, since a very young age, been very interested in what I saw in the National Geographic specials on indigenous tribes; I was interested in learning that many tribes from all over the world practice similar modifications with out ever having communicated with each other, for example South American, African, South East Asian and many other tribes have all practiced lobe stretching. To me body modification is more than aesthetic appeal, art or beauty; I love the ritual, I love the feeling I get and of course I love how it looks. Every aspect of it I love and I will never laser remove my tattoos or take out my plugs and sew my holes up. I plan on many more tattoos and of course bigger and bigger stretched piercings, I hope most of my friends who read this see it as more than just a fad and can appreciate it for more than just a passing trend.
To me body modification represents what we have lost in our modern society, individuality. Going against the mainstream not 'just because', but because its truly 'us'; truly being who we want to be with out fearing the repercussions. If stretching piercings or getting tattoos makes you feel good about who you are, you enjoy the process, you interested by it or you just really like how it looks, than go ahead and do it."
