Most of you probably won't have heard of Lloyd Thaxton. I only have vague memories of him through my older sister. She was more in the age range (5 years older than me) to have watched him back in the 60's. Lloyd had a syndicated "american bandstand" type show for a long time. He was quite a talented ,funny guy and a pioneer in the genre. He had all the big stars of the day on his show. You can read more about him if you'd like and see a video tribute here...

About 3 years ago I was thinking about whatever happened to him and looked him up on the internet. To my surprise he had just started a blog that I joined. His blog entries were very entertaining, funny, nostalgic and full of photos and clips from his TV shows.

Suddenly in July of this year the posts stopped coming. All us "bloggers" have been waiting patiently for some news and today we got it. Lloyd died Sunday of cancer. So although he was not a huge mega star, he still had an impact on alot of people and after getting to know him through his blogs I can say that he was a kind, decent, hard working man that loved music, the entertainment business AND his fans.
