Today the verdict was reached in the Sean Bell case. It is saddening however not so amazing to me that NONE of the police officers who shot 50 bullets at unarmed men, killing one and injuring another where not sentenced. The justice system has failed Sean Bell, his family and friends. The judge stated that he did not feel that the prosecution could "prove beyond a reasonable doubt" but what is there to prove when the facts are clearly showing (in my eyes) that the NYPD wrongfully killed this young man, just hours before he was to marry his fiance. The fact that the victims had no weapons and the sheer number of bullets shot prove that the police were excessive in their actions to say the least. Had this case been presented in front of a jury i believe the police would have had a different outcome. But, I guess it is what it is. This is a corrupt world that we live in. Let's hope the civil trial goes better. RIP Sean Bell.
