Guitarist's blog II So we have completed recording for the next track and the mixing is underway. This is the bit where Liam hides in a dark room and practices sinister and suspicious arts – during breaks from that he pans, fades, compresses and produces. Generally we end up with a track which sounds a lot better than when I left him to it – which is nice. In fact some of it sounds completely different - maybe I should ask about that sometime.
By the way, if anyone wants a techy chat on 'turning it up to number 11' that is fine although I am fairly limited it this area and will probably receive more information than I give – a bit like an 'anorak succubus' which strikes me as a good name for a metal band – or track. Maybe someone has already used it and, if so, I would love to hear the words which rhyme with that hook. Thought of the moment: If it is always possible to squeeze a bit more toothpaste from the tube, what else..?
