Hello everyone and festive greetings from Softbodies HQ in a very cold Blighty.
Firstly, let me apologise for not getting back to all our new friends - we know who you are - we will be looking at your pages and commenting very shortly.
I hope Santa brought you all what you wanted in that old sack of his - I've been lucky enough to get the Andrew Poppy ZTT box (fascinating and brilliant listening), The Fall Complete BBC Sessions box, a George Martin EMI box set, the Police Certifable vinyl import (nice!) and the Glasvegas album. Top play the lot of them.
Going on to the new track that is currently in the can and following on from Guitarist blog number 2, Phil came round for a bit of a catch-up a couple of Saturdays back and WHAM! - 2 hours later, we have the main guts of a new one on the old hard drive.
(Sorry about that - that was a bit Adam West-era Batman but you get the jist. At least I didn't say SPLAT!)
Anyway, with regards to the mix, it's a bit strange for me practising dark arts (I think that's what Phil said) on someone else's baby - you tend to take more care and attention than you do on your own. You have to make sure you water and care for it and you still then have to make sure that the parent likes the result.
I will be finishing off the mix in the next couple of days but we should have it up before old Father Time comes a calling so watch this space.
Lastly we would like to thank you all for all the comments, requests and plays we have had over 2008 - if you would have told us at the beginning of the year that even 100 people had listened to any of our stuff, then we would have laughed in your face so thanks again.
So off to my darkened room I go with my flagon of mulled wine so that we can get one last nugget of Softbodies mush out to you all before 2008 rushes to a halt.
With very best festive wishes to you all - ho ho ho!
Liam.
