Here I am, softly lounging in the passenger seat, blasting
through the dark Wyoming landscape at the red-eye-inducing time of 3:57 AM. I still feel the adrenaline
pumping through my veins, each one silhouetted by the emerald glow of my
computer as they pulse with every key type. Tonight was the first show of our
tour and I must say it could have not been a greater goodbye. I had the
pleasure of seeing so many friends in the winsome wooded college town known as
Boulder, Colorado. We played the Fox theatre, the legendary rock club where
history has been made so many times over. It was a very modest show, relatively
low in attendance but that did not stop the wonderful energy of those who came
to see us. I am really excited to
get to know This Time Next Year and Memphis May Fire (Of Machines will not be
meeting up with the tour until we are in Oregon). It is always tough
administering the “break the ice” tour–talk conversations with a group of young
men that you know you will be seeing every day for the next month. I think it
went over smoothly and they all seem hold the traditional demeanor of tour
folk---calm, genteel, and understanding. Once we conquer this flat quest
through the dark Wyoming wilderness and land ourselves flat in the great valley
of the Salt Lake, we will be seeing them all again and have yet another chance
to bond. Until then, I must thank all the gleaming smiling familiar faces of
friends and fans that provided us such an embracing exodus and sign off….sweet
dreams internet world.
