I don't know why, but I can't always turn off my internal editor. I think I have a song finished, then I want to start tinkering with it. It seems like by now I should know when a song is finished and, sometimes I do, but then other times I keep playing with it until it sounds right to try and make it work. Why did I bring this up? Well, I have a song I thought was finished called,"Love came back around", that I'm not sure if I like now. I like the feel of it but have changed my mind on the 1st verse, we'll see.
I'm really starting to like this new song,"Get Away". I e-mailed an MP3 to Dave to see what he thought, he loved it too. He's going to add Bass, Piano, Drums, and Brass at his studio so I can get a feel of what it would sound like with the full band. Also,"Watch it Rain", is really getting good responses when I play it out. I wrote that song sometime early last year and the band worked it up to play at the Riverbend Festival, but really haven't played it much since. We need to have a rehearsal and start learning these new original tunes so we can start playing them live.
I guess I should introduce everyone for those of you who don't know the band. Alan Sanders has been the lead guitarist since '95, Keith Tressel on Keys, has been with us since '96, Mark Strickland has been the drummer with us since '98, and Jeff Brewer has been holding down the low end on bass since '04. Dave Schliessman played keys with us for a while around '99-'01 and still sits in whenever he can. On this new CD I'll be using the band as well as several outside players, so I'll introduce everyone as they come along.
Remember, If you'd like to attend the CD release party, be sure to sign up on the e-mail list at
