hola to all who have entered my realm.  Please enjoy your stay while you're here.  I just wanted to say hello, as this page has just been created and still has yet to be ready for REAL public consumption...

My name is Pete Conway, and I am a musician - I love to write songs and sing and play them,. but I also love to play lead guitar, piano, drums, percussion...I LOVE music.

I am starting this page as a way for fans to access songs and information about upcoming events, plus I will use this blog to add my ideas on whatever may be on my mind at the moment, though I will try to keep things relevant...and I will make one artist suggestion for listeners per entry just to keep things fresh..

THIS WEEKS ARTIST:  Brian Jonestown Massacre (also known as BJM)

probably just about everyone now has heard of BJM and their "charming" lead singer Anton Newcombe by now after the documentary "DIG" became a hit.  Yet in my mind, that movie focussed too much on Anton's crazy antics and didnt explore his songwriting and creative output, which is top grade.  Anton's "demons" may keep him from the top, but he is at the top in my book.  Songs like "Swallowtail" "Evergreen" and "Jesus" are just unheard of in our pop music modern world.  Sure you can hear some Velvet Underground and The Cure in Anton's sound, but you can hear just as much of The Stones.  Look for BJM at the upcoming Monolith Festival at Red Roicks, September 14-17 (not sure which day BJM is there but this looks like a sweet festival nonetheless...TONS of new acts)...in the mean time, go buy these two albums by BJM to sedate you:  Give It Back! and Their Sataniuc Majesties Second Request.  Enjoy
