First of all, a very sincere thank you to all of you that came to our last couple shows. We really appreciate it, and we hope you'll keep coming back. We're trying to space out our shows just enough to give us time to make each show significantly different (and hopefully better) than the previous one.
A special thanks to Mike Byrne, who has vowed to be at every show and hasn't let us down yet. (He's 8 for 8, if you count an early basement show)
In addition to setting up more shows, there are several exciting things happening in Tedsylvania:
The song "Mercenary" has been up on our site for a while, but it has just been updated substantially (mainly, the lyrics are now 100% real English - read them if you don't believe me). And now you can (and should) download it, too.
We took down "I'm Gone," because we recently re-arranged and re-recorded the song (with real lyrics and real drums) and the new version will be up here as soon as it is mixed. We also recorded a brand new song that we're very excited about, and it too will be available online (and at our shows) in the near future. In the meantime, we put up "These things happen," a classic song from our repertoire (and by "classic", I mean "the only other song we have a viable recording of at the moment")
We are also hard at work on our very first batch of teddy holidays t-shirts, stickers, and posters, with a lot of help from some good friends of ours (most importantly Joan Hector and Garrett Born). For our first attempt at t-shirts, we're trying to use only second-hand, donated clothing that we bought from the Goodwill. We hand-picked the most pristine, least-decorated shirts of various sizes, colors, and styles. Onto each of these we will screen-print one of several "Teddy Holidays" designs that our artist friends have come up with for us. If all goes well, we will have a bunch of sweet shirts for sale very soon, each of which will look different from all the others, and all of which were hand-made from materials we bought from a charity. And they'll be cheap.
Our next show is on Friday, June 13 at the Cabooze in Minneapolis, a CD release event for our friends Guerilla Blue. It's going to be a sweet show and we hope you can make it. We should have at least a few shirts made by then too.
Thanks. -JT (The Holds Teddy)
P.S. - If anyone ever feels like making a design for our band to use in the future (for clothes, posters, stickers, web-sites, temporary tattoos, or anything else we can think of), please feel free. We'd love to exploit your hard work. (We're open to most themes, but please try to avoid any imagery involving holidays or teddy bears; we've got plenty of that stuff already)
