Nathan Ward, Kevin Beechwood, Kaley Ramirez, Kelly Ponce, Chris Stroh and Matt Foster, all students at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (my hometown), are responsible for the following:

This was Ward's and, most likely, all the other students' first venture into documentary filmmaking. Nice work — and thank you!

This is something that has been deserved for a long time. Too bad they didn't tell us how much the placards for the seats cost.
They would be surprised with a little more advertising just how far this dream of theirs would go! I wish them well!

GONE HOME TO CANADA!

SHAME of Colorado Springs for not honoring one of it's Great Son's more! Like I said earlier...I live here now and I indeed understand the majority mentality in the Springs! If your 'different' or not the typical Uber Neo-Con WASP, your often ignored at best...harassed at worse!

I'm glad someone is doing something to force the Springs to recognize Lon Chaney for his genius and work and again...SHAME on Colorado Springs for not do such earlier!!

'

Btw.....I've also visited the School for 'The Deaf and Blind' when visiting a former Brother-In-Law who was a teacher there...not realizing it was founded by the Chaney's!

GONE HOME TO CANADA!

I've lived here in Colorado Springs, CO for the last six years having moved here from Los Angeles and when I learned that you had a theater named after you, I had to go see it and thus, I've visited the Lon Chaney Theater a several times now and they still do 'Rocky Horror' there every Saturday Night!

Well, it certainly is high time for you to finally be honored in your home town! Good documentary. I was blown away by the beautiful picture quality on the film clips.

Not even a street? Here in Casper we have tons of streets named for townspeople no one would recognize now. And the most famous son, the most talented, gets nothing? I know that theater is in danger of being unfunded, as well. It is criminal.

Good job on the video, students! What a treat to see inside the theater, and the School for the Deaf.
Nicely put together!

BTW, was a student playing the Toccata? That took my breath away. Wish we could hear the whole piece.
Maybe in future work?

Thanks for sharing, Mr.
Chaney!

Again, very happy birthday.
They should declare it a holiday, too!

Nice work...it really is surprising that no one thought to honor Lon before now...in his hometown no less. Whoever got the initial brainstorm should get extra kudos.
I love especially love the inclusion of the clips of the inside of the theater and the deaf school, landmarks that I hope to be able to visit in the not so distant future! Hopefully by then this project will have been the push to help motivate a name change or two!

Hey if the Monkees can get a town to change it's name to Clarksville for a day who knows? The sky's' the limit! Thanks for postings this Mr.
Chaney, and please keep us apprised! An amazing effort!

I didn't know there was no museum, no street, no nothing to honor this extraordinary man. I "found" Lon Chaney in 1973, when I was in the 6th grade. I researched (as much as an 11 year-old can) and found out about his parents' deafness. I think at that moment, I adopted Lon Chaney into my family. My mother and her sister suffered with poor eyesight and hearing loss, due to a congenital disease known as "retinitis pigmentosa". I understood the "tricks" he used to communicate to his parents. I think he's wonderful and if I feel so strongly about him, Colorado Springs ought to be ashamed that they have not paid tribute to Mr. Chaney. His performances are breathtaking! I can hardly wait to see what comes of this documentary! I'd love to see more! Thank you for honoring Lon Chaney!! He's the greatest!
