SWEET DEVOTION was co-written by Bort Schrader (music) and me (music, lyrics). Bort had come up with this striking piano part based around an E major and backed by a sinewy bassline and groovy drum track. I added the verses and vocal line, creating one of our most haunting and unique numbers. Also, it's one of the rare NM songs where I'm not playing keyboards (if anyone remembers that in San Francisco during the late '90s Stacia Carr tinkled the ivories on several tunes, than you've a better memory than I!!).
