The effects of UV exposure during a case

It has been observed on countless occasions that some of the activity we are trying to capture is in the UV range, this being said the problem we face is to shot into the UV with various types of equipment with out applying the UV stimulus which will be detremental to a case.

The UV WILL give you a narrow window in which you maybe fortunate enough to capture fluorescence on sensitive equipment but only for a mere second and should only be used as a last resort if you feel the case requires it should the entity be resistant to normal approach and is troublesome.  But once used the entities will back away immediately and will effect the outcome of the case presenting no more than little to no activity after the stimulus has been applied. This is why it is important not to use flash photography.

The other obstacle of course is the safety issue for researchers using the UV stimulus,
exposure to UV can damage your eyesight and cause accelerated Cataracts so safety is
is high in the agenda. More information on this topic will be available through the release of 'The Complete Approach' on 7th August.

Happy reading friends.

Baz

Can't wait to read the book :)  I shot a picture of my backyard shortly after moving in, complete with flash (I wanted to see just how far my flash would reach in the pitch black of night), and picked up a strange blue...something.  After checking it out, sending it to various people to work their magic, we have yet to figure out what in the world it was (not lens refraction, or an animal, or a bug).  Of course, I haven't been able to recreate it and, now that you mention it, after using the flash, the house and yard give off that "everything's normal" feeling.  Hmmm...yeah.  I can't wait to read the book!

..When I investigated at Eastern State Penitentiary in PA, I was actually using a flash at various times. Out of all those photographs taken with a flash ( at least by myself), not one showed anything out of the ordinary. That begs me to wonder that if there had been an entity in the vicinity, would it have been more likely to have been caught on film if I han't been using the flash...Baz, thank you for this. Looking forward to The Complete Approach. ..

I don't guess I understand what this is talking about, perhaps bcause I just use an ordinary 2.0 megapixal blackjack phone camera (which has captured some pretty damn interesting pics, that I want logical explanations 4).....for now, until I can get a great camera. I can't wait 2 read this whole book! Thanks Barry, 4 all the work U do 2 provide logical@other-worldy evidence. I am looking 4ward 2 learning much more on this subject. It is my humble opinion that U R the best at what U do and U R a great assett 2 G.H.!!!!! (and the world).. :~) Mara.K.

Can't wait for the book to be released.

I am wondering about the physics of the spectrum(s) of light and what it might mean to "inter-dimensional" (for lack of a better word) existence.  In other words, why does it work?

Blessings to all,

Sounds very Risque BAZ where your health is concerned. How high is the UV range where it poses a risk and how long does the UV exposure take to affect your eyes after so many usage?  Maybe you should consult an Ophthalmologist on advice about protecting your eyes? hopefully he can be of temporarly help to you. Technology today is very advanced and if you do get cataracts, laser surgery is readily available but some risks involved depending on the individual so it's up to your discretion and judgement how often  you must use this high risk equipment to achieve your goal. Good luck in your endeavors and keep a regular check with your doctor about every 6 months to once a year to check your precious eyesight.

We always wondered about that Barry. We see you using the full spectrum cameras often, and are of some of the dangers of UV exposure. UV rays can damage not only your eyes, but your skin as well. The majority of Sun damage that is done to your skin is from UV rays.  I'm sure the exposure from a camera or other piece or equipment is minimal but you can never be too cautious when it comes to your health and safety. I've always used flash photography, with no result as you may have guessed.  I wonder, though, as mine is a Canon A2000IS digital, if the quality of the picture with no flash will yield any results if there are any to be had as the camera isn't the highest quality out there (but all I can afford at the moment). I will no doubt be picking up your book to gain additional guidance and expertise from a man whose advice I trust completely.  Thanks as always, Baz, for your information. :)

If you cannot shoot in darker situations because of the camera, you may wish to mount it on a tripod and use ground hugging red lights to yield better results.

..I can imagine this point isn't popular with many investigators who use flash photography regularly.  The different spectrums of light definately play an important role in ghost hunting,  I believe.  From the entity's point of view, I would love to know why UV light is offensive to them!  It puts me in mind of the vampire theory, even though vampires are a ridiculous idea, it seems as if early writers may have understood the damage that UV light can cause. lol  I guess investigation of a tanning salon would prove unyeilding! lol

Anyway, thanks for addressing the question.  I really appreciate your insight!  Have a great weekend, Baz! ..

thats very interesting to know but now that you've pointed out that the entities will back away afterwards thats would explain why some people (that i've come in contact with)  afetr taking photographs will experience little to no activity after untill a later date.

p.s.
love this  season so far this last one was very good i've never seen Rob jump so far off his seat in the show before lol

Does this include using the full spectrum camera I assume?  For the most part I won't be taking pictures of people with the UV spectrum, but I'm sure they will be around and possibly in some of them.  So it's good to know about.  I just got mine back from being converted.  Do you know anyone in California that can help me learn a bit more about using it now?  I want to make sure I use it right, and a basic photography class teacher may not even know about this area of photography.  So I'm not sure who to ask.  Thanks!  Stacy >^.,.^<

I cannot wait to get mine! I heard Dustin recently on NorCal blog talk radio and he mentioned it. I was surprised to read his writing! He is a very talented and descriptive artist, combined with your expertise in technology I am sure it will be an exciting read! He was having difficulty calling in that day as your crew was on site somewhere, and when someone asked if you had come up with an electronic adapter of he replied," yeah Barry? I am sure he could build one out of bubble gum wrapper and some wire if we needed too!"
