So I felt like sharing with you my top ten or (11) records to listen to in this lovely, horribly forcefully cheerful season we call Winter! These albums represent something deeper to me than just good music. They have created somekind of place, if you will, in my mind that can only be associated with snow, bitter cold, and maybe a little blues. (the mood, not the genre) So here are MY favorite records to listen to in the winter:

Beck-"Mutations"

Counting Crows-"Recovering The Satellites"

The Innocence Mission-"Befriended"

Travis-"The Invisible Band"

The Walkmen-"Everybody Who Pretended To Like Me Is Gone"

Wilco-"Being There"

Whiskeytown-"Strangers Almanac"

Fiona Apple-"Tidal"

Joni Mitchell-"Blue"

Elliot Smith-"XO"

Ben Folds Five-"The Unauthorized Biography Of Reinhold Messner"

Currently listening:

An interesting idea. I hadn't thought about it, but I do have music that I find to be seasonal. Here are my Top-10 winter ones. Next week you might get a different list.

Enya - Shepherd Moon

Jimmy Buffett - You Had To Be There

Bob Marley - Live!

Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska

The Ragbirds - Catch A Fire

Michael McDermott - Ashes

Third World - Reggae Ambassadors

Zachary Richard - Woman In The Room

Emerson, Lake, & Palmer - Brain Salad Surgery

Little Feat - Waiting For Columbus

As you can see when it is cold out, I am heavy on stuff from the Gulf Coast and the Caribbean Islands. Keeps me warm.
