Current mood:  bored

So I'm finally finding the time to write a blog.... No I'm not that busy anymore.... yes I do have ADD (self diagnosis)...

Where do I even begin???

The Good

I just finished up my credits for my TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) endorsement. I'm thoroughly excited about that because (1) I have no more weekday and all day Saturday classes,(2) Now that I'm finished I get my money back, and (3) I get to be reimbursed AND use those credits for my salary increase. As you can see I'm learning to work the system slowly, but surely.

There are also 27.5 days of school left and I really don't know what I'm going to do with myself. I love my class (which Pam says is the cutest overall), but they're mentally exhausting. I really believe I was given certain "problem kids" because I've been there the longest... this is the teacher-wide phenomenon which leads to BURN OUT. My flame is gone and my candle has been thrown away.

I'm thinking that I've been partying so much because the school year is winding down. Not quite sure though. We haven't gone to the club in a while, we went for Jades birthday and yeah..it wasn't like I remembered. Lately I've been down for the low-key Wednesday wine, house party, beer pong, kings cup type of atmosphere. Weird huh?

I actually was able to hang out with You Sher for her birthday, which was good. I think that will complete my once a month sighting :). Still haven't met "HIM" but I'll let you know ASAP when I do.. .I'm very curious, but I'm learning we have some things in common so he can't be that bad.. and honestly she's BEAMING!!! I wish you could see it... *tear*

My mom and dad are good. My mom is officially signing her retirement papers, which is good for her.. but it's definitely time for me to seek different living arrangements. LOL!  Van is going to high school next year!! Damn we're old, and I seem to be shrinking in height each time I stand next to him. TJ's doing great and I almost dropped the phone when I heard the K word, but it was followed by the consideration to get a dog first. :0) Then the dog died :0(  I don't think we'll be hearing the K word for a while.

We ran into 3 6 Mafia and I was like a schoolgirl that couldn't formulate words, but I managed to take a picture with Juicy J * thanks to JJ and Jess *. ADD note… I just realized those are all J names.

And DRUMROLL..............................the 8 month drought was ended. We'll leave it at that.

The Bad and the Ugly.

Recently the evil troll (my principal), which has both bad and ugly covered, has been on the war path. She is trying to find things to write me up on because she has nothing to do before she RETIRES next month. Shit... I should've put that in the good category. **She will finally be through fucking up children's life by not providing structure and discipline**. Recently she called me a "spoiled brat" and it took all the strength in the world not to say anything, and you know that's not me AT ALL. Rarely do I bite my tongue. That's enough energy spent on her... all I do is think about when I first started and how she said I was "too happy", then I remember how she would love if I were to be like her. Misery loves company, and somehow she's still alone.

Well, The time has come to consider moving on to another school, and this always seems to be a hard decision for me because I feel like I'm neglecting my kids. However, I feel like I need to move on because I think I've hit the ceiling on growth and development AND words of wisdom passed on to me " After 3 years at an at risk school it's time to go". We shall see if I'm a masochist and stay.

I'll leave you with some of my students' quotes.

Student:"Miss Fletcher this is the shocker"

Me: "Why do you call it the shocker?"

Student: "because it shocks"

In response to my hair change.

Student 1: "I don't like it"

Student 2: "Miss Fletcher I like your hair… and it's not because I want to go to Field Day"

<P>Hey, how's my favorite spoiled brat doing? ;) Kidding, kidding. It was so good to read an update from a corner. I am interested to know about the 8 month drought ending. Also, I think you should tell your principal to shove something sharp up her a*s. It might alleviate some of her discomfort.</P><P>So, we really should catch up soon. Are you going to be home June 29-July 8? I'm buying my tickets in a couple weeks. </P><P>Also, do you know what IRA is? I'm sure you do. It's like this HUGE teacher/literacy convention in Toronto. I'm going! (The part that makes me chuckle is that my boss, Ira, is the one sending me to IRA. Makes me wish there was a convention named BROOKE that I could send people to.) Anyway, wish your fine educating self was going too. Then we could take Canada by storm, and maybe even resurrect a McDonalds, ala "Moscow style!"</P>

I agree with Brooke. From a medical perspective, telling your principal to stick something sharp up her a*s would definitely be painful and well deserved. TJ dropping the K word almost made me drop my laptop and I wasn't even carrying it... It was so so nice to see you for our once a month meeting. =) I love birthdays for that reason. HE is eager to meet you too. I have relayed to him a certain similarity you two share. We are both excited to partake in this activity with you. =) Congrats on completing your TESL classes! I know wherever you end up, you'll kick ass. And Field Day kicks ass too.
