Current mood:  excited
Okey, so Sergei (our new drummer) came to Vladimir a couple of days before we went to Moscow studio. We practiced the entire album several times at our little rehearsal spot and we were pretty hapy how everything sounded at that moment. During our rehearsal Sergei told me that there is supposed to be a birthday party at the place we are going to stay for a week in Moscow, but we would need to go there 2 days earlier.
And of course we decided to go there earlier. Because it's not a party at a bigass house where whole a lot of people walking like zombies with beer cups and trying to have coversations or waiting untill someone passes out to have sex with him.... It's a Russian party... where people actually talk sitting together at the table and having some vodka or coniac and cool vegan or other kinds of good food... Well, sometimes we go crazy.... like doing vodka bongs... (just kidding)...
So we took a bus and headed to Moscow in early morning from our sweet home Vladimir city. It was pretty cold outside, and I didn't take any warm stuff and medicine with me as always... On our way there we were watching some funny russian action movie called "Undefeated" or something.. It's about russian superhero... Well, of course... everyone in this country is a superhero.. especially after some bottles of vodka.
When we finally got to Moscow we went straight to our good friend Sergei's apartment.. It was a pretty long metro ride there. Well, long only for me I guess. Since you can walk over all the Vladimir city like only using 1 day. Our new home for a week looked like the coolest and cousiest squat I ever seen. We just arrived right when the party started. I promised myself to be serious on that record and not to have any alcohol during recording... but hey, there's still 2 days till it started... so I got drunk that night... And in the morning I felt really bad. I got sick... and I had a pretty bad headache which was killing me for the whole next day. I knew sickness was coming even when I was back home. My mom told me to take more medicine, but I didn't.... and here we go... I felt really bad all time on this record.
The first and second day of recording was drums (obviously)... Our sound engeneers Andrew Belchikov and his Igor set up the drums and mics... and Sergei was preparing for the record.
We've been told that this is a big and a very expensive studio in Russia... Most of the biggest Russian rock and pop stars do all their recordings there. We had a friend in Moscow who was a friend with sound engeneer in this studio so they made us a more cheaper offer. But not for mixing and mastering... because it costs about 350 euros to mix only one song! This is too much for us poor Russian punkers. And besides we never trusted russian sound engeneers in mixing and mastering... Plus since our sound engeneers were kind of young students on that studio... they knew their job pretty good but i have to admit that sometimes they were really slow when doing computer stuff. So I had to do it myself sometimes since I have some experience with that.. They were okay with that..
Everything went pretty smooth with drums... We recorded all of them in 2 days. And my sickness is just killing me all the way...
On the third day Dinal and Constantine arrived to the studio and we started to record bass and rythm guitar lines.. We did pretty good on that one. I think for the first time I finally like how my guitar will sound on the record.
We finished rythm guitars and recorded all the lead guitars on the fourth day... So we had only 2 days left for vocals wich was obviously not enough for us. We decided to record all the lead vocals in 2 days.... and then record all the back vocals at home at our small studio... and So we did it that way.
We safely came back home and we still had to record all the backing vocals.... We didn't know what a nightmare we'll have to face...
So we're at our small studio in Vladimir. Starting to record back vocals.. I'm at the computer engeneering...Sometimes I'ts either Constantine or Dinal since I had to do a lot of back vocals too..
We spent about 2 weeks(!!!) on recording all the back vocals... Let me explain why.. A lot of back vocals that we did on rehearsals didn't fit well on the record.. So we thought on new ones... basicly we were coming up with some new stuff right in the studio. The good side of this was that we didn't have to pay for anything because we have a free deal with this place... On the other hand since we didn't have any deadline the process went really slow because we had more time to think... more tries to come up with something good, record it and then listen to it as much times as we wanted...
Right now we're all home, done with recording.. and started mixing with our Italian friend.

Anyway... I'm not sure who'll even read this stuff but I'll keep you updated on our record in our blog..

 Love from Russia
