Fred Thompson talks about health care systems we shouldn't copy.

"A lot of people don't seem to have noticed but, in recent years, the grand experiments in bureaucratic medicine are coming apart at the seams."

Check it out at The Fred File.

I tend to agree. Look at the other things the government regulates. Do you really want them regulating your health care too?

Ahhh...is that why the comments are missing from ImwithFred.com? I was worried the site had been attacked.

I have friends that live in Canada and they can't stand the health care system there. You are right Fred, and I'm looking forward to your 8 years in office.

If the Canadian health system is so great then why do canadians come to the U.S. for treatment?? Why Democrats are in love with socialized medicine is beyond me!!!

I just wanted to let you know that I completely agree with you. That is a contribution that wouldn't make me mad to see leave my paycheck. I wish more people would see things like you do.

I was stationed in Belgium for a number of years... They are actually going bankrupt because of the fraud that is happening. Illegal immigrants in that country still get health care, but dont pay into the system. Tell me that isn't going to happen here if Hillary gets her wish. FRED keep up the good work!!!!!! If you are elected president, I will stay in the military!!! LOL

All you have to do to see government health care in action is look at the veterans hospitals. It is in shambles and it is a shame that is what the veterans come home too. So government controlled health care is a no for me.

I agree with you, Fred!
However, something must be done to reform the health care
system in this country. Tort reform would be nice, also President Bush's idea to make health care premiums tax-deductible would have been awesome.
I think those are two things all of us could agree upon. Premiums are out of control. My husband and I are self-employed and must pay for our own
insurance out of pocket -
let's just say with no pre-existing conditions, our health insurance per month would pay for an extra MORTGAGE PAYMENT here in Tennessee.
Health Care is one of the weakest issues for us as Republicans,
if we had SOME KIND of plan to put forth to the American people in this upcoming election, it would really be helpful. I don't want the Dems to monopolize this issue in 08.

Amen, I live in the great state of Tn. I know what a goverment run health care system would create. It almost bankrupt our state when the now govenor pushed Tenn Care thru. It was an absolute disaster!! I don't want goverment funded health care at all it..... won't work.

Let's not regulate, but make it affordable. I am tired of not being able to use my insurance because I have high deductibles and no pharmacy co pays. I want it affordable but fair, not legislated by a big government. We need affordable, good healthcare for self employed people who are not on a group policy. Thanks. oh....I'm with Fred.

I know people who work hard every day, but can't afford money for insulin, so they go without. Clearly, this is going to end their lives early as well as give them medical complications that will have to be paid for by tax payers through the public hospital system anyway. This rationing by wallet plan for health care that we currently have in effect is neither healthy nor a plan. Fred, I support you all the way, and I do not think the United States has to copy any other country's way of doing things, but we do need to develop some charitable means of providing for our neighbors who are truly sick and need help. I look forward to seeing you in Houston soon!

Very true.. the last thing we need is an expensive, ineffective national health care system. I just got out of the Army, I wouldn't wish Government health care on my worst enemy.. well, maybe Hillary.
