OK, here is the lowdown for SWEET & SOUR SCARY SWING AT The Grand Harmony Palace in Chinatown, NYC on Wednesday, October 31st featuring GEORGE GEE AND HIS 17PC. MAKE-BELIEVE BALLROOM ORCHESTRA and special guests THE BLUE VIPERS OF BROOKLYN ! 7pm-1230am $15 Cover // $15 food/bar min until 930pm $20 Cover // No Min afterwards VINTAGE ATTIRE AND COSTUMES ENCOURAGED! We will be having a COSTUME CONTEST with $100 CASH PRIZE fro First Place! Yes, $100 CASH, you heard right! To be eligible for the contest, you need to register by 9pm and the contest will be held at 1045pm. Winners will be determined by thunderous and earth-shaking applause, so attendance by your friends, family members and strangers off the streets are recommended. FIRST PLACE: $100 cash plus free entry (for two) to all Grand Harmony Sweet & Sour Swing events until the end of 2007. SECOND PLACE: George Gee and Blue Viper CDs plus free entry (for two) to all Grand Harmony Sweet & Sour Swing events until the end of 2007. Third Place: Free entry (for four) to all Grand Harmony Sweet & Sour Swing events until the end of 2007. Consolation prize to all contestants will be a pair of passes to all Sweet & Sour Swing events until the end of the year. Additionally, we will have various raffles throughout the evening for fun gifts (to be eligible, just need to sign our email list at the front desk upon entry). There will be NO DANCE LESSON on this evening (usually provided by Sandra Cameron Dance Center) and pretty much continuous live dance music (well, we have to tear DJ TOMO off the dance floor once in a while to spin and spin and spin....).
