O.K...So I have been playing guitar for a little over two years now, and it has helped me in so many different areas. Aside from the sheer joy that I get out of simply playing it, it has also afforded me the opportunity to meet some great people. Some of these people that I am referring to happen to meet every Monday night at an open mic night at The Nutty Irishmen in Farmingdale, N.Y. During my three-month endeavor here, I have consistently seen great musicians jump on the stage, play some great songs, and at some time during their performance plug their myspace pages. As a high school teacher, I always assumed that myspace was sort of taboo due to some of the recent teacher/student interactions that you hear about on the news. As a result I would "zone out" while one of the musicians were plugging their myspace page. However, as time went by, I began to think how cool it would be to listen to some of the music that I love to hear on Monday nights, by a simple mouse click. After much deliberation, sure enough I found myself listening to my new friends' music and I was a regular "surfer" on myspace. This is when I also discovered that I am able to accept or deny access to people who I would want to view or not view my page. Thus, if a student finds my page, I do not have to give them access. Ultimately, this process of discovery has led to my brand new "JAYFLASHMUSIC" page at myspace for all of my new myspace friends to listen, view, and hopefully appreciate. In the upcoming summer months that I have off, intend to get better at playing and recording, (on my Mac), so that I will have four quality songs to put on this page. Until then, I hope you enjoy what I have added thus far.
