HOD PRESS RELEASE

Texas’ metal menace Hod have posted a new track, "Harbinger of Death," from Ibex Moon Records debut Serpent at www.Reverbnation.com/hodtheband. Since launching its Reverb Nation page Hod has been the #1 ranked local metal band for two weeks now. You can also hear two other tracks - "Demoralizer" and "Victims" - on the page.
In other news, Hod will be playing the Indy NecroFest in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 13 (see attached) with Acheron, Estuary, and many more extreme metal acts. The group will be playing some East Coast shows in July as well. More info on that as it becomes available. The Serpent's plague is spreading.
Bio/Info
In a world where metal has become too safe and guys run around the pit in girly shirts and eyeliner, Hod has set out to bring back the menace. The membership is a veritable who’s who of Texas underground metal. Guitarists Bjorn Haga (ex-Necrovore) and Carl "Lord Necron" Snyder (ex-Thornspawn), vocalist Beer Reebs (Pillcrusher, Rancid Vat), bassist Derrick Rivers (ex-GG Allin), and drummer Dennis Sanders (ex-Exulcerate) form the unholy alliance. This ain’t no fashion show.
An EP appropriately titled Cry and Piss Yourself was released on digital extreme metal label Metal Hit in 2008, serving as a stern warning to faux metal wannabes, mall crawlers, and trendy parasites everywhere. But the world had seen nothing yet, as the band’s signing to Ibex Moon Records soon led to Serpent, Hod’s monstrous full-length debut.
Generally speaking, most will recognize a blackened death metal sound that is as chilling as it is vicious. However, the members of Hod prefer a too often forgotten label called "fucking metal." Beer Reebs spews his twisted tales with an iniquitous rasp joined by the screaming licks and jagged riffs of guitarists Lord Necron and Haga, while the rhythm section of drummer Dennis Sanders and bassist Derrick Rivers gallops and slams with frightening intensity. You have been warned.
"Serpent consists of seven razor sharp, high tempo, aggressive Black/Death tracks that never slow down enough to give your neck a break." - MetalCrypt.com
"A wild ride from beginning to end." - About.com
"An all-consuming meanness that’s too frequently missing in metal." - Nathan T. Birk, Zero Tolerance
"Staggering around in a vomit-encrusted stupor, Serpent throws itself into the doorway, rudely interrupting whatever the hell you were doing with their black tar fueled, early Immolation meets Bestial Mockery racket." - MetalReview.com
